Ten Tors 2013

Weekend of 10th to 12th May 2013

Before the off the team were all smiles, Photo left shows the Park School 35 mile team.

From left to right: Sharma Goody, Imogen Hunter, Ellen Napier, Alice Johnston, Harvey Roberts, (Barnaby) and Callum Platt.

After 9 training weekends (mostly wet and foggy) the final event came and the weather was terrible  (the worst Mr Ratcliffe has seen in 12 Years)

At the end of the event the team had been reduced to 4 with Sharma and Callum having medical problems.

The surviving team members completed the event at 4:22pm on Sunday

A huge Congratulations to the whole team on a tremendous effort in some very trying conditions.

Tom Crook And Jacob McGowan-Smith Year 11 (who ably assisted in the training of the  year 10 passing on their experiences of the event from last year) A HUGE thank you from Mr Ratcliffe and the rest of the staff.

An example of the weather conditions experienced by the participants on both the event and training weekends.

Overall a good year for Ten Tors, unfortunately we only had 1 team we will try for 2 next year.  A tremendous effort by all of the students during both the training and the event itself.

We the Ten Tors staff hope for another successful year next year.

Training starts last Saturday in September 2013 with a walk along the Tarka Trail. Look out for notices on the Bulletin!!
