A Welcome from our Headteacher

Welcome to our combined Website and Virtual Learning Environment (V.L.E.). The Park Community School is an 11-16 co-educational comprehensive school situated in a beautiful location of over 30 acres of school grounds and parkland adjacent to the river Taw, overlooking the town of Barnstaple and its estuary beyond.

As a Specialist Technology College, the new technologies enable us to develop and maintain the cutting edge of educational progress whilst complementing it with the very best of tradition, built around our much respected House system and heritage of over 100 years’ service to our community.

The Ofsted Inspectors visited in October 2009 and judged us a Good School with Outstanding Features. Their Report confirms that our students like the school, contribute well to its community life, feel safe and listened to: their behaviour is good and, crucially, they make good progress. The extra-curricular programme serves them well, with participation rates high. They are well prepared for future life.

In this digital age we seek out and develop new ideas and new ways of doing things, always grounded in the universal truths and values that guide each generation towards appropriate decisions and outcomes.
